What is Reiki?
Reiki is a gentle simple technique for stress reduction and relaxation, but yet it is powerful and can promote healing in all levels, body, mind and soul. The word Reiki derives from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki which can be translated to “Universal Life Energy”. The practitioner acts as a conduit for this energy and flow it through his / her hands to the client. The energy knows where it needs to go and adjust itself to create maximum effect that is appropriate for the recipient.
This is an alternative healing therapy and it can complement conventional medical or other holistic treatments. Reiki is gaining wider acceptance in the conventional medical establishments. Many hospitals across America and other countries are incorporating it into their patient services; in some cases they have their own Reiki-trained physicians, nurses and support staff. Reiki is NOT a religion even though it is spiritual in nature. There is nothing that you have to believe, in order to learn and use Reiki. Reiki is still effective even if you don’t believe in it. For more information about Christianity and Reiki please CLICK HERE.
Reiki is also a very useful complimentary treatment for animals.
What is Karuna Reiki®?
Karuna Reiki® came from a Sanskrit word that means to diminish the suffering of others, or “compassionate healing.” It is an alternative therapy just like Usui Reiki but is considered to be more powerful yet graceful and can transcend you past time and space on many levels simultaneously. Each symbol carries a distinct energy of its own quality. Karuna Reiki® is taught only to people who are Reiki III / ART practitioners or Reiki masters and have already gained the necessary experience and acceptance.

What Happens During Reiki Session?
During a Reiki session, the client is fully clothed and comfortably lying down on a massage table or sitting on a chair. The practitioner channels the energy through his or her hands then places the hands above the client in various positions, holding each position for three to five minutes or longer as needed. The result of this alternative therapy varies and can not be guaranteed but most clients feel relax, peaceful, or calmness after the session and some also notice a significant improvement in their energy levels, alertness and well-being in the days after.
Reiki sessions can be administered in person, or remotely. Remote healing is just as effective as in-person healing since energy travels past time and space.
